WHENUAPAI
DESIGN BRIEF:
The garden was created to complement the French provincial architectural style of the house. Straight lines, manicured boxed plantings, rusticated railway sleepers, water features and the use of simple viewing axis's were the main features of the design.
OVERVIEW:
The main garden beds are bordered with railway sleepers which gives the garden structure and character. The manicured hedges tie in with the structural/formal look of these sleepers also.
Spring flowering plants are dotted in certain areas of the garden to give color and interest during spring time. Three water features were constructed, all entirely different, that bring the sound of water and a calming element/focal point into the garden. Cobbles were placed within the driveway to break up the mass of this space.
